Crescendo is a Mahogany wall-mounted bar and cocktail cabinet created by reimagining a Gerhard Heintzman baby grand piano that was built, by hand, in Toronto in 1885. Retaining and reusing as many of the original pieces as possible, Crescendo blends new and old in perfect harmony.

Built as a passion project amidst COVID-19, Crescendo gave me a chance to make for the sake of making; to keep my tools and my mind sharp. But what's more is the storied history I discovered in researching the craftsmanship of an untunable piano – something I hope the recipient of this piano will appreciate discovering as much as I did.

Taking inspiration from my workshop, this modular French cleat wall system was designed for a client who needed a home office solution for her downtown condo.

Instead of a typical desk with drawers, we looked to take the organization and storage design of my workspace and elevate it to create a functional, fine-tuned home office with half the footprint, twice the flexibility and unlimited possibilities.

Included in this system: a desk with sliding keyboard & mouse tray, one set of small drawers, one small cabinet, one wine holder and five shelves in various sizes - and all completely reconfigurable or removable. This wall can be transformed to serve any purpose.

Lisa started in her kitchen, researching and experimenting to create chemical free hair care products to repair hair damage after years of using relaxers. Only a custom design can transform atypical spaces into a place that works for you. This custom cellar was designed to create additional storage from an otherwise dead space in the client’s home and used spalted maple accents to tie the cellar into the overall aesthetic of the home.

This custom designed Ambrosia Maple high top table with booth seating (and built-in outlets) was conceptualized to seat eight and accommodate this penthouse apartment’s raised windows. With seat cushions sewn to size, there is no better place to enjoy breakfast with a view.

In homage to Chris Salamone, Four Eyes was a test of ability and understanding that ultimately paved the way for Woodchip’s conception. Crafted from the scrap wood of a destroyed 120 year old solid Oak dining table, Four Eyes has only two repeated cuts and is the poster child for “handmade.”
